Veteran Actor Deepti Naval told the media she got into depression when there is no offer for her after marriage. She married filmmaker Prakash Jha in the year 1985 and after that struggles to find any roles. Speaking to the media she also told how she fight back and recollect herself as an artist. Deepti made her Bollywood in the year 1978 with the film Junoon. After Deepti Naval debut there is no stepping back she kept featured in many films. Her popular films are Kissi Se Na Kehna, Saath Saath, Katha, and Chashme Buddoor. After her marriage, she eventually got divorced from Prakash Jha.
Deepti talked about all the things in the ongoing event Sahitya Aaj Tak 2022
She told “Stopped getting roles when I got married, it feels like my all skills washed away. I went through that phase where some negative thoughts prevail over my head. For several years I had no work eventually it create self-doubt because I always see myself as an artist. Suppose you have no work to do or create something, then Who Are You? These things let me slip into depression as I started doubting my capabilities.” Furthermore, she talked about what changes happened over the time in Bollywood Industry and how it reduces the chance of outsiders.
She told “Currently Bollywood “is reinventing and the involvement of casting director makes it tough to access filmmakers directly. The concept of the acting couch was always there, so the scope of insiders and outsiders. You need to find the pathway in the industry around this issue. You know exactly it was there.” Currently, the veteran actor waiting for the release of her next with Kalki Koechlin.
