Satish Kaushik, an actor, and director became ill Friday night while he was visiting a farmhouse in Delhi’s Bijwasan and was taken to a hospital in Gurugram. According to police sources, a preliminary autopsy indicates that the man had a heart attack and passed away before getting to the hospital.
The inquiry into the death of the 66-year-old actor has turned up nothing unusual, according to sources with the Delhi South West police. The sources noted that additional investigation will reveal more details regarding the manner and timing of the death.
Satish was fine in the Holi Celebration
Mr. Kaushik arrived in Delhi yesterday to join his friends in celebrating Holi. He had joined the Holi celebration the day before at Javed Akhtar-Shabana Azmi’s Mumbai house and shared happy pictures online.
About his whereabouts during the day, police are currently gathering information. They do know that he was in Bijwasan at the farmhouse when he first felt ill. He was brought to the adjacent Fortis Hospital in Gurugram, but he passed just before getting there. His manager Santosh Rai was one of those who hurried Mr. Kaushik to the hospital. As he spoke to the news organization ANI, “Around 10:30 pm, he went to bed. He called me at 12.10 am, stating that he was out of breath.”
Passed away before reaching the hospital near Gurugram
The hospital informed Delhi Police that the patient was from Delhi. The body was then transported by the police to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for an autopsy. This morning, the postmortem was completed, and the body was delivered to Mr. Kaushik’s family.
The companions who brought Mr. Kaushik to the hospital for additional inquiry are in contact with the police.
