Late Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the lead role in the movie The Bypass will be screened at Bandra Film Festival on August 30. It`s a silent movie written and directed by Amit Kumar, shot on a stranded road in Rajasthan. Having no dialougues, this film only highlights some spectacular and raw performance of actors.
Earlier this film was screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. In this film Nawaz and Sundar Dan has played a role of killers who kills the people who travel by nearby road and Irrfan Khan played a role of corrupt police officer.

Director Amit kumar says about the screening, ” In my first film, The Bypass, i had the honour of bringing two great actors together. It was one of those times when everything came together perfectly: the fabulous cast, the wonderful crew and locations. Later the director also said that it`s a tribute to silent era, where acting chops, a strong script and visuals storytelling were the most important tools of filmmaking. He also thanked his whole crew for this wonderful work. He also thanked Bandra Film Festival for doing fabulous job of screening intresting film which may not have had an exposure in the mainstream.” British filmmaker and producer of The Bypass Asif Kapadia said”It was a key moment in my journey as a filmmaker, it was long time ago, but it feels so vivid, was a crazy experience in shooting of the film in hot desert. He also remembered the versatile late Irrfan and fantastic Nawaz for their extraordinary performances in this film.
The Film Festival Bandra is in its second year. It has Abhay Deol and Assem Chhabra on itsĀ advisory board. Last year this film festival showed almost 100 films from filmmakers across the country. Its a great initiative taken for raising the unederratedĀ movies.
