The original Aashiqui, released in 1990, was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starrer Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The second series of the movie was revived by Mohit Suri in 2013, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur.
