On Monday, the Russo Brothers and Priyanka Chopra’s upcoming television series Citadel debuted its trailer. In the spy-action series Citadel, Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden play the lead roles. Moreover, the program will have sister programs created by Italian and Indian crews and filmed in those nations. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan will both appear in the Indian television series. That Raj and DK will be directing.
“We’ve all been developing a strong passion for narrative universes with a sprawling expression. In interconnected years-long expression, where characters change and morph and move between different iterations. I think this show is capitalizing on two very exciting trends that we’ve seen in storytelling over the past several years. I said the show’s executive producer Anthony Russo at a press event. Recently, it has been easier for non-English films and television shows to enter other cultures. Typically those where the English language is more widely spoken.”

As someone who spent a significant amount of time working in a non-English medium, Priyanka continued, “Seeing the success of, you know, subtitled work in English language areas was really amazing to me. Yet, I think that the purpose of this show, which initially drew me to it, is comparable to the social experiment that it claims to be. The characters and plotlines may, you know, overlap and mingle with one another if, for instance, the English-language flagship show is accompanied by Italian and Indian episodes.”
She questioned whether that would require a large population to watch another language. For instance, she said, “despite the fact that the two languages have nothing whatsoever in common, will viewers of the Italian show want to see the Hindi show? Yet, I find it exciting and fascinating how today’s entertainment crosses boundaries and is available in many different languages. The main focus is on conveying stories. Amazon is a great partner in that regard. And in my perspective, Jen’s desire to collaborate with AGBO is something that has never been witnessed before. It’s a lot of fun.”
