Meaning of VFX

VFX, that’s all we can say, are special effects used to add depth to the visual representation of a story and have been used in films in one form or another almost since the first films. Since that time visual effects have been used frequently and not just for special effects. Matte painting was used to add non-existent ceilings on some film sets. Visual effects have continued to evolve to truly provide the sights for the film. Full Form of VFX is – VFX stands for Visual Effects for short Visual FX.

What is VFX?

Visual effects (VFX) Any imagery created for a film, or other moving media. A term used to describe shots that cannot be taken during live-action shooting. VFX is the integration between real footage and this manipulated imagery to create realistic looking environments for context. These created environments are either too dangerous to actually shoot in, or they just don’t exist in the world. They use computer-generated imagery (CGI), and VFX software in particular, to do this. VFX producers communicate with directors and cinematographers to determine which scenes to shoot with green screen.

What is CGI?•

1. CGI

CGI – In this, two D and three D images or backgrounds are created with the help of computer. Apart from this, dragon, dinosaur or any monster can be made. In the film, war scenes, crowds and accidents can make through CGI. Six different departments also come under CGI. Like modeling artist, texturing artist, lighting artist, animation artist, FX artist, compositor artist.

• Finally comes the work of the compositor. After all these are prepare, they are compose together. After this the footage is rendered. and get the final footage

2. Special Effects

After CGI, special effects are insert in it. This is similar to doing FX. The only difference is that 3D effects are insert in CGI. While special effects are put in normal locations.

3. Motion Capture

In this any actor is digitally record. Then it is transfer to the model created by CGI. For this, the actor is made to wear a special kind of shoot. This is called motion capture shoot. Movies like Avatar, Planet of the Apps etc. have shot with this technique.

4. Prosthetic Makeup

Through this the face of any character can be changed. Like Amitabh Bachchan was given the form of a child in Amitabh Bachchan’s film Paa, Rajkumar  shown as an old man in Raabta etc.
