Why Bollywood Movies Getting Destroyed By South Cinema

1. Originality happens in South Cinema

Till a few years ago, many Bollywood stars were famous for giving superhit films after remaking films of South Cinema. Salman Khan has been such a star in whose career many superhit films (Tere Naam, Wanted, Ready, Bodyguard) have been remakes of South films. Apart from this, many stars like Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor (Kabir Singh, Jersey, R. Rajkumar) have been running their career shops with the help of remakes of South films. However, in the era of OTT, fans now prefer to watch only the original version of South cinema and often reject South remakes.

2. South industry is connected to its roots

Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui had said some time ago that in South you will find every person talking in their own language, be it Malayalam or Tamil, Telugu but here people make Hindi films and speak only in English.

An actor who has come from a small town does not understand half the things. It is clear that people are not connected to their roots, due to which now people have started recognizing those. Bollywood films which claim to be related to the culture, but after watching them, the audience does not realize it.

3. South cinema stars are more secure

South’s top two stars Ram Charan and Junior NTR (N. T. Rama Rao Jr.) were seen working in this year’s biggest blockbuster film RRR. Earlier, stars like Prabhas and Rana Daggubati came together in Bahubali too. Seeing stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan together in a film It is impossible.

He himself had once said in response to a journalist’s question that if all the three Khans were to be cast in a film, Chaddi Baniyaan would be sold. This insecurity of Bollywood stars is visible on screen while South stars seem ready to come together to make the film better.

4. Lack of research on scripts in Bollywood

Senior Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap recently Recently said in his interview. That in South you get to see films from different culture and background but where Bollywood is controlled, they do not focus on such films which came out organically from the roots.

They try that if Pirates of the Caribbean is released, then make it Thugs of Hindostan. If Mad Max film has come, then make it Shamshera. This film could have run 3-4 years ago. When there was no OTT platform. But now these films will not work. Now people have been exposed to world cinema. They watch the Squid Games and watch Korean culture.

Big production houses will now have to come out of Mumbai and find the story on the ground. When Gangs of Wasseypur runs, people start making films only on the gangs of Uttar Pradesh. A herd begins, such cinema does not work. Cinema has always been the soft culture ambassador of any country, but what is our country representing with the help of Hindi films in today’s era?

5. Anti-Hindu perception about Bollywood

Another reason why many fans of Hinduism are upset is because they feel that Bollywood stars often try to make fun of Hinduism in their films. On the other hand, there is a belief among the people about the stars of South Industry that they present their faith towards Hinduism in a brilliant way on the cinematic screen.

One of the major reasons for Aamir Khan’s boycott of Lal Singh Chadha was his mockery of Hinduism in the film PK. Akshay Kumar has also faced Boycott due to the film Oh My God. Such notions about South stars and Bollywood stars are also keeping people away from Bollywood cinema.

6. Stardom of Bollywood stars ended due to social media

There was a time when people thronged to see Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan. People were curious about him. If a personality like Amitabh or Shahrukh came in front, people would hold their breath, such was the effect of their stardom.

In the era of social media, the mystery about the stars is over. Their charm is gone as all the stars are available on social media. With the help of boycott culture, people have started feeling that they are powerful and can bring down any star. All kinds of influencers are building their audience among people. Small stars are emerging from the streets. Due to this, the presence of Bollywood stars on social media is reducing their star value considerably.

On the other hand, most of the South stars are not very active on this platform and have managed to save their mystery and star appeal.

7. Bollywood still relying on Hollywood remakes

While South Cinema is continuously surprising the fans due to its original concept. In Bollywood, the process of making Hollywood remakes or remakes of South films is still going on. Be it Aamir’s Lal Singh Chadha film or Salman’s remake of the Korean film released sometime back, Bharat.

In the era of OTT platform, people are enjoying Spanish, Korean, French, German, American films sitting at home. In such a situation, the taste of fans has developed a lot and they are turning to theaters only for selected films. There has been a lot of evolution in the taste of the audience. They no longer find it necessary to spend money on the cliche concept films of Bollywood.

8. Larger than life action hero disappeared from Bollywood

Director Sanjay Gupta, who made films like Kaante, Musafir, Zinda, believes that Bollywood’s action hero cinema disappeared in the 90s due to the romantic cinema of Shahrukh Khan. Larger-than-life action hero films were considered anti-intellectual by many critics, giving them poor ratings.

But it is also true that the fans of Bollywood cinema have always preferred larger than life cinema. The same is now being seen in KGF2, Pushpa and RRR as well. The scale, cinematography, story of these films were of a different level. Due to this, people also suffered some il-logical things in films.

Sanjay Dutt himself has said that larger than life has disappeared from Bollywood. In such a situation, Bollywood once again needs the return of Larger Than Life action films in a better way.
