Ranbir Kapoor in an interview admits to the failure of Shamshera. According to the actor,’ If Shamshera didn’t run at the box office it means the audience didn’t like the film. The film didn’t work because the content wasn’t good.’ Even after the amazing cast of the movie, him as the main lead and for the first in a dual role, Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist, with Vaani Kapoor, Ronit Roy, and Saurabh Shukla in the main cast of the movie.

Shamshera was a Hindi-Language period film, an action movie. Set in the 1800s, produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. Karan Malhotra was the director of the movie.
