Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar is ready to set fire to the Marathi industry. The actor made a Marathi debut under the direction of Mahesh Manjrekar. The film is based on the character of Shivaji with the title Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat. Vashem  Qureshi will be the producer of the film. The film will depict the story of unsung heroes who had given their lives for the Shivaji Dream which is Swarajya. The main aim of this film is to glorify their contribution and remembered them as a part of history. Moreover, Shivaji’s history was the most glorious part of the Maratha Empire.  A muhurat (An auspicious time) shot was already shot in the presence of Mumbai Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Raj Thackeray as the audience.

Akshay Kumar about Shivaji’s Character

The film announcement was made after the release of Ram Setu. Mahesh Manjrekar said Akshay Kumar is the perfect choice of character. Furthermore, the actor talked about his debut ” For me it’s like dream come true. I always want to portray the character of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Believe me, it’s a huge responsibility for me to represent him on the big screen. When I was offered the role I clearly said no to Raj sir. Additionally, this is the first time working with Mahesh Sir, looking forward to a lifetime experience.”

Director too gives his opinion about the film. Mahesh said “It is my dream project which I was doing for the last 7 years. it will be the greatest and biggest Marathi film to be released nationwide. I want to make people realize what Chhatrapati did for us. And I am lucky that Akshay Kumar is ready for the role. Furthermore, he is a perfect choice.

Eknath Shinde also said, “The movie will be a super hit all my wishes are with them”. The Chief Minister also remembered  Balasahab Thackeray saying he always supports Marathi cinemas. So his wishes are also with the film.
